Hello and welcome to my education and study skills blog – LearnWithNafisa.co.uk
I‘m Nafisa Ahmedi, a British-born international lawyer and lecturer in Business, Law and English. I have a Law LLB (Hons) degree and I’m also a Master’s graduate in International Law LLM.
In December 2012 I completed my CELTA which led me to complete my diploma – DTLLS/PGCE the following July where I specialised in English Language Teaching in addition to teaching A Level Law and BTEC National Diploma Legal Studies. I was awarded an OFSTED grade 1 for outstanding teaching by the end of my PGCE. My area of doctoral research is education and social justice. Read more about my teaching experience here.
‘Why the switch?’ People often ask, but the answer is, there’s no switch at all. I call it a dual career. Who said you can’t do it all? 💁🏽
After graduating from university, I worked in a bank for a little over a year but left to pursue my post-graduate studies. While studying for my Master’s, I began an online poetry and creative writing magazine and in 2010 I started a freelance website design and development business Diamondz Designz, creating websites and logo designs for businesses in the UK and abroad. In the same year I also started the company Nafisa Gifts and opened an online shop selling poetry inspired gifts.
In October 2014, I decided to start blogging about my PhD pursuits and career in teaching so I started blogging as MissPhDiva which evolved into blogging about many things including advice on teaching and learning, important life skills and things I love (that is anything pink and glamorous).
I now run this blog under the website LearnWithNafisa.co.uk. Alongside my blog, I also manage my online shop Nafisa London & Co.
If you like my blog and have any questions or comments, don’t be shy to get in touch. I’m pretty active on all my social media pages so be sure to follow and keep up with all the fun.💕
